WooCommerce Plans to Add Full-Site Editing to Single Product Templates

With the latest features announced on the Q1/Q2 roadmap, WooCommerce is getting closer to completing its full-site editing support.

The e-commerce platform already supports about 20 core blocks, but you still can't customize every aspect of the store using full page editing.

The idea of "Store Editing" is still in the beginning phases with dynamic improvement occurring in the WooCommerce Blocks repository.

Two new blocks are next on the roadmap – a Product Search Block and a Dynamic “My Account” link block.

The shift to Store Editing will have a knock-on effect on the developer ecosystem. Ethier believes it will expand opportunities for those who create store customization products using blocks.

A blockified single product template empowers store owners who would otherwise need to hire a developer to make these types of template changes.

There is also the possibility of new emerging marketplaces offering blocks, block patterns, and template part variations as better ways for stores to be customised.
